Mineral and Energy Board Brings $2.6 Million in Revenue from November Lease Sale

Baton Rouge: The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected over $2.6 million in bonus revenue for the state in the November lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2013-14 total collected to over $11.2 million.

At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 22 leases covering 6,915 acres, out of 104 nominated tracts covering more than 133,616 acres; the monthly and fiscal year totals are available online at: http://dnr.louisiana.gov/assets/docs/mineral/11.13.13.MineralLeaseSale.pdf

The Board sold leases in Calcasieu, Cameron, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. Mary and Terrebonne parishes.
