Baton Rouge: Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending June 15, 2013, decreased to 2,915 from the previous week's total of 3,755. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending June 16, 2012, figure of 3,806.
The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 3,341 from the previous week’s average of 3,296.
Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending June 15, 2013, increased to 24,447 from the previous week’s total of 23,629. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending June 16, 2012, figure of 34,698.
The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed increased to 23,193 from the previous week’s average of 22,265.
