Baton Rouge: The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected $498,136. in bonuses in the July lease sale, making this the total collected for the start of the new Fiscal Year 12-13. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 12 leases covering more than 1,534 acres, out of 28 nominated tracts covering more than 16,136 acres. The Board sold leases in Allen, Avoyelles, Bossier, Caddo, Catahoula, Jefferson, Lafourche, Plaquemines, Terrebonne, and West Baton Rouge.
