Where can I view the traffic cameras on Louisiana roads and bridges?

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development enables drivers to access up-to-date traffic information through a traffic camera system installed along designated positions on the interstate and bridges. Currently, the cities monitored by traffic cameras are Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Hammond, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Shreveport, Houma, Monroe: http://www.511la.org/

This service allows drivers to view traffic conditions and make pre-trip decisions on which route they should take to avoid potential traffic delays. The cameras are used strictly for traffic monitoring. Camera snapshots are updated every 45 seconds to 1 minute. You need to press "reload" in order to obtain the most current image.

The cameras allow traffic engineers to monitor and gauge the flow of traffic to determine where optimization measures are necessary. In addition, the cameras reduce incident response time by allowing accurate verification of incident characteristics such as location and severity, with the added benefit of managing incidents from a central location.
