How can I find money or property that may belong to me?

Unclaimed property are assets turned over to the state for safe keeping by businesses and organizations throughout the United States when they are unable to locate the owner of the property.

Unclaimed property may include: savings and checking accounts, uncashed payroll or cashier's checks, money orders and traveller's checks, certificates of deposit, customer deposits or overpayments, paid up life insurance policies, health and accident insurance payments, gift certificates, Christmas club accounts, uncashed death benefit checks, stocks and dividends, utility deposits, and oil and gas royalty payments.
